Launch of the iGST WAHub Capacity Building Series

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the iGST WA Hub Capacity Building Series, aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the first GST decision across various thematic areas.

The 2024 Capacity Building Program seeks to empower members and stakeholders in West Africa by providing insights into the significance, implications, and practical applications of the first GST decision. This knowledge will be essential for active engagement in the current phase of Paris Agreement implementation.

Running from April to October 2024, the program will feature webinars conducted in both English and French, followed by interactive Q&A sessions.

Open Letter: Leaders from West Africa Call for Bold Climate Action

Ahead of COP28, the iGST West Africa Regional Hub has released an open letter to global leaders and parties to the Paris Agreement on the need for bold climate action in West Africa and beyond.

Through this open letter, the iGST West Africa Regional Hub is passionately advocating for ambitious climate action, particularly in line with the Green Growth Agenda of Africa, emphasizing the benefits for communities and their people.

Bottom-up Approach of Regional Non-state Actors toward Updating NDCs in Post-GST

The iGST West Africa Regional Hub is collaborating with the South-East Asia Hub and the University of Technology (Malasia) to host a special side event at COP28 on Friday, 1st December 2023 (6:30 – 8:00 PM GMT+4). The venue is the SE Room 8 (125pax). The link to the side event page is here.
